Because I was taking the train into and out of downtown on that day, I stopped for the Gala. Got to meet some great people and saw some old friends and veteranos from the movement. It was a great time, and I bought the above T-shirt.
The room, which must hold 600 people, was packed. I turned to my friend, Father Richard, and asked why with all this support couldn't we get comprehensive immigration reform last summer. He said, I don't know but we got creamed!
